We, the UP Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (UP JPIA), in cooperation with Filipino Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (FILSCAP) is organizing an Amateur Song writing competition. If you know someone who might like to partake in our upcoming event, please do invite them to join. This is not only a great opportunity for aspiring talents like them to showcase and further develop their creativity, but it is also a way to show one's love and passion for filipino music..
Street Tease! A Song Writing Contest, Street Dance Competition, and Fashion Show
all wrapped in one night of extreme festivity!
The event will be held on August 26, 2006 (Saturday), 7pm at Dish (Mother Ignacia St., Quezon City)
PRIZES:
1st Place - Php 10, 000 plus gift packs 2nd Place - Php 6, 500 plus gift packs 3rd Place - Php 3, 500 plus gift packs *** PLUS trophies and recognitions
REGISTRATION FEE:
only Php 200 per song entry
UP JPIA Street Tease Songwriting Competition's RULES & REGULATIONS:
1. This competition is open to all amateur songwriters. Members of UP JPIA and its sponsors are not qualified to join.
2. Each entry must include:
(A) Completed entry form (or photocopy). All signatures must be original.
(B) CD or Audio Cassette(s) containing 1 song only, 5 minutes or less in length. (C) A clearly typed lyric sheet (D) Cash or check for P200 registration fee.
Cassettes, CDs and/or lyric sheets should be clearly marked with song title
All entries must be submitted on or before August 15, 2006.
Mail or deliver all entries to: UP Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants, 4th Floor, Rm.406, College of Business Administration, UP Campus, Diliman , Quezon City.
3. Songs must adhere with the theme "Street Life/Urban Living."
4. Each song submitted must be contestant's own original work and shall not infringe any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties. Songs may have multiple co-writers.
5. Contestant may enter as many songs as desired but each entry requires a separate cassette or CD, entry form, lyric sheet and entry fee. Multiple entries should all be sent in one package with the total entry fees covered by one payment.
6. Entry fee is non-refundable. UP JPIA Street Tease Song Writing Competition is not responsible for late, lost or damaged, misdirected, postage due, stolen or misappropriated entries. Cassettes/CDs and lyric sheets will not be returned and will be destroyed under supervision after the contest. All entrants and their collaborators retain their full ownership rights and all copyrights to all songs submitted.
7. The 12 finalists will be chosen by a judging committee comprised of music industry professionals including managers from record labels, publishers and producers. All entrants will be notified about the competition status by August 19. The finalists will have the interpretation of the songs on the Grand Night, tentatively scheduled on August 26, 2006, and winners will then be chosen.
8. Songs are judged based on the following criteria:
For the screening, 40% originality, 40% lyrics and adherence to theme, and 30% melody and composition.
For the finals, 30% originality, 30% lyrics and adherence to theme, 15% melody and composition, 15% interpretation, and 10% audience impact.
9. Prizes: 1st Place—P10,000 worth of cash plus gift packs, 2nd Place—P6,350 worth of cash and gift packs, 3rd Place—P3,500 worth of cash and gift packs, and Best Interpreter.
10. All prizes are non-transferable and will be awarded to the first name as it appears on the entry form. The fair division and distribution of prizes among co-writers is the responsibility of the winners. Responsibility for the fulfillment and delivery of prizes resides with the relevant partners and sponsors and UP JPIA shall take no part in any disputes therein arising. UP JPIA reserves the right in its sole discretion to substitute any and all prizes with prizes of comparable value.
11. Entry constitutes permission to use winners' names, likeness and voices for future publicity and advertising purposes without additional compensation.
12. UP JPIA reserves the right to extend the deadline of the competition if needed.
13. The entries should be lyrical in nature
14. There is no limit to the number of accompaniments and interpreters.
15. By participating in the contest entrants agree to be bound by these rules and by any subsequent published revisions of these rules and by the decisions of The UP JPIA Street Tease Songwriting Competition Committee which are final in all matters relating to the contest.
